What’s inside Move, Breathe, Thrive?

Module 1 - Foundations of Stress and Wellbeing

In this module you’ll learn about the foundations of your health (or what you might be experiencing as un-health) and the tools that can help reverse the impacts of stress.  You’ll be introduced to the concepts of stress, well-being, and the mind-body connection. This module covers the impact of stress on physical and emotional health, and the benefits of practices like yoga, pranayama, and meditation for reducing stress and promoting well-being.

Module 1 Highlights

⟡ Gain an understanding of what stress is, where it comes from and what you can do about it

⟡ Cover the what and why about the tools you’ll be learning in this course

⟡ Set realistic goals to help with your transformation to a more physically, mentally and emotionally balanced person

⟡ Learn how to set up a practice space at home

Module 2 - Yoga to Reduce Tension

It’s hard to find calmness and stillness within if the physical body is still tight and wound up, so in this module you’ll learn about using gentle, physical movement to reduce tension in your body.

This module provides an overview of yoga and its benefits for stress reduction. It covers basic yoga poses and practices that are specifically designed to promote relaxation and ease tension, and provides guidance on incorporating yoga into your daily routine.

Module 2 Highlights

⟡ Gain an understanding of the benefits of yoga and learn key concepts

⟡ Learn essential yoga techniques and postures to reduce stress in your body

⟡ Learn how to use props (using things from around home!) and how to modify postures to suit your unique body

⟡ Move through specific stress reduction practices that have been designed to help you feel relaxed, at ease and calm

Module 3 - Pranayama for Balance and Calm

After creating comfort in the body, it’s then time to turn to the more subtle but very effective practices – breathing! This module will introduce you to the practice of pranayama, or yogic breathing techniques, and how it can be used to reduce stress and promote balance and calm. You’ll learn several simple pranayama techniques that you can practice on your own, anywhere, anytime, and provides tips for incorporating pranayama into your daily routine.

Module 3 Highlights

⟡ Learn what pranayama (also known as yogic breathing, breathwork, conscious breathing) is and how it reduces stress and anxiety and promotes balance and calm

⟡ Learn specific pranayama techniques that are particularly effective for stress relief

⟡ Learn how to sit comfortably during practice (hint: you don’t have to be able to sit crossed-legged to do any of these practices!)

⟡ As you start to expand your experience in the course, there will be pranayama only practices and practices that also include yoga movement, all aimed at counteracting exhaustion and stress and cultivating grounded energy and joy

Module 4 - Meditation for Clarity and Focus

As you work through the layers of practice, you’ll be ready now for meditation.  In this module you’ll explore the benefits of meditation for reducing stress and improving mental clarity and focus. You’ll receive several meditation practices to learn and receive guidance on how to establish a regular meditation practice.

Module 4 Highlights

⟡ Learn what meditation is and how a regular practice can increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation and enhance cognitive function.

⟡ Learn specific meditation techniques and understand how to start a regular practice

⟡ Discuss common challenges and obstacles in meditation, such as distraction, restlessness, and self-judgment and learn the strategies for overcoming them

⟡ As you build upon the learnings from your previous modules, there will be a number of practices ranging from meditation only to practices that include everything you’ve learned – yoga, pranayama and meditation

Module 5 - Living mindfully

It’s time now to learn complementary practices that can become part of your daily routine and that will enhance your yoga, pranayama and meditation.  In this module you’ll explore the principles and practices of Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of holistic wellness, and how they can be integrated into daily life to promote balance, harmony, and overall well-being. You will learn about Ayurvedic self-care practices, mindful eating and energy management techniques that can be easily incorporated into your routine.

Module 5 Highlights

⟡ Overview of Ayurveda and it’s philosophy of balance and wellness

⟡ Learn the concept of mindful eating and how you can incorporate simple changes to enhance your health and digestion

⟡ Discuss the Ayurvedic perspective on sleep and rest and how you can create healthy sleep habits

⟡ Receive an introduction to the Ayurvedic concept of energy management, including the idea of balancing physical, mental, and emotional energy

Module 6 - Integrating Stress-Reduction Practices into Daily Life

This is where everything comes together! This module will help you to integrate the stress-reduction practices you’ve learned into your daily life.  You’ll learn strategies for overcoming common challenges and obstacles, and receive tools and resources for maintaining a regular practice over the long term.

Will I need to purchase a whole lot of fancy equipment to do this course?

Definitely not!  We’ll show you how you can use things from around home to replicate props that you’d use in a normal yoga studio.  And as a huge bonus, because you’ll be at home you can wear the most comfortable thing your own!

Do I need to know anything about yoga, breathing or meditation? I'm a complete beginner!

Do I get the whole course all at once?
