Mala Yoga Policies

Admission and Hours of Operation

Members and guests will be admitted to the Premises during normal hours of operation.

The Premises may from time to time be closed to Members on particular Public Holidays or for exclusive private hire.  Members will be notified in advance of any occasion that this may occur.

Mala Yoga may refuse admission to the Premises of any person in its absolute discretion and without giving any reason.

Opening hours are as per the Class Menu.

Procedure for joining Mala Yoga

Every person will need to set up an account in Punchpass to book and pay for classes.  If you wish to pay by cash or bank transfer, please contact us.

Dress Code

Members and guests must be appropriately attired at all times.

Shoes are to be left outside of the practice space.

Conduct of Members and Guests

Mala Yoga is committed to creating a safe, sustainable environment for our community.

We follow a path of inclusivity and acceptance, welcoming all students to practice with us.  Members are expected to honour this path and be respectful of other people’s views and opinions.

Mobile devices are to be set to silent during class times.

Prior permission is required before taking photographs or digital images on the Premises.

Subject to availability, Members may park in the designated spaces at the back of the Premises.  All parking on Keegan Street is free and untimed.

Bicycles are welcome to be stored inside the Premises during opening hours.

Prior permission is required before bringing any pets onto the Premises.

Smoking is not permitted in any area of the Premises.

Members may not disclose or discuss any other Members, or private events, seen or heard in the Premises in any press or on any social media platform.

No drunkenness, bad language or other misconduct or illegal activity is permitted on the Premises.

A Member must not use the name or address or logo of Mala Yoga on any platform (digital or traditional) without the written approval of Mala Yoga.

A Member must not use the name, address or any details of the Premises in any interview, correspondence or article, which is intended for public broadcast or publication without the written approval of Mala Yoga.

In the event that a Member causes damage to or destruction of any property then that Member is fully responsible for making good all loss suffered by Mala Yoga as a result of such damage or destruction.

Members violating these Policies are subject to such action as may be deemed necessary by Mala Yoga. Continued violation of the Policies may lead to suspension of Membership privileges and ultimately expulsion from attendance by Mala Yoga.

Privacy Policy

As a Member at Mala Yoga, you will be asked to provide contact information. We appreciate you providing your information, as this assists us in getting to know you better.

The purpose of our Student Registration Form is to enable you to communicate with us relevant and important information in relation to attending our premises as a Member.

As a Member at Mala Yoga, we may need to communicate with you from time to time about changes to our schedule and events and to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening at Mala Yoga. We value your privacy and respect the sensitivity of the information provided to us, and ensure your details are kept secure. Your details will be added to our mailing list, however there is an option to unsubscribe at any time.

Your details will not be disclosed to any third parties. If you are contacted by a third party claiming to act on our behalf, or you suspect a third party have accessed your details, please contact us immediately so we are able to resolve any issues.

Terms and Conditions

Members must notify Mala Yoga and it’s teachers of any injuries or illness, or any reason they are not capable of participating in a class or event prior to the commencement of the class or event.

Mala Yoga and it’s teachers are not medically trained and are therefore not qualified to assess whether Members are in good physical condition and/or that Members can engage in active or passive exercise without detriment to their health, safety, comfort or physical condition.

Members are advised they must take expert advice prior to commencing any exercise program if they are in any doubt about their ability to engage in active or passive yoga practice.

Following any injury or illness, a medical professional must clear Members prior to returning to the Premises. Any injury sustained at the Premises must be reported to Mala Yoga and it’s teachers at the time of the event and the Member agrees to complete an Incident Report Form.

Members shall not attend the Premises whilst suffering from any infections or contagious illness, disease or other ailment or whilst suffering from any physical ailment such as open cuts or sores or minor infections where there is a risk, however small, to teachers and other members.

Members waive Mala Yoga and it’s teachers from any liability and release and discharge Mala Yoga and it’s teachers from any liability for any injuries, loses, damages, costs, charges, expenses or liabilities incurred arising out of involvement in activities of Mala Yoga and it’s teachers whatsoever or howsoever occurring whether arising from the negligence of Mala Yoga, its employees, agents and instructors or otherwise.

Mala Yoga is a child-safe and child-friendly organisation and all teachers for our Kids Yoga classes have a valid Working With Children Check. Mala Yoga complies with the obligations and responsibilities as outlined in the Working With Children Act.

Purchase Policy

Unfortunately we do not offer refunds or transfer of payment to other events or members. Passes or course payments will not be extended beyond their expiry date. Pass extensions are not given if your circumstance changes, such as missed classes, illness or injury, holidays, or work commitments. Please ensure you check the allocated amount of time you have to redeem visits on your pass prior to purchasing.

Members are expected to finalise payment prior to commencement of all classes and events.

If you are unable to attend a single class you have registered for, your registration must be cancelled 1 hour prior to the start of class to release your pass for future use.  Cancellations less than one hour prior to the start of class will forfeit their pass. Events must be cancelled 7 days prior to the start of the event.
